I like it!

Giles is clearly punishing himself and he's hurting from having to kill his friend. There is no reason for his dad to punish him more. I love that his dad recognises the hard choice he had to make and praises him for his quick thinking and problem solving skills in a crisis. It's what Giles needs to hear, because it was the right thing to do, even if the outcome was the second worst possible outcome (the first being it didn't work and Eyghon ran free). I like to believe that this is how it went down.
