“You found me,” Ripper stated, looking up at his gran defiantly. “What now?”
“Depends on you, I suppose,” she replied, settling herself into the bench opposite him. “The Council are cleaning up the mess with the police. You are in the clear.”
“How do you know it was me?” he challenged.
“Rupert, I’ve been practicing magicks since I was a child, do you honestly think I would be unable to trace the signature back to you?”
His shoulders dropped and he let out a raggedy sigh. “I tried to stop it, Gran.”
“I know, my dear boy. Let’s go home.”
