“Give him time,” Giles counseled as Buffy sighed in annoyance for the third time in thirty seconds. “Prophecies are precise, but demons are notoriously bad at telling time.”

 

“It would happen to be 'meet a demon for info night' tonight,” Buffy grumbled.

 

He handed her the cup of tea from his flask. “Do you have somewhere to be? The Bronze? A date?”

 

She shifted her weight and looked down at her feet. “I need to study for an exam tomorrow.”

 

Sometimes it was hard to believe she was still just a high school student. “Go home, Buffy. I’ll handle this.”
