Frequent Flier

Title: Frequent Flier
Author: il-mio-capitano
Prompt: Records
Rating: FRC
Setting: Giles, in a British hospital. Please translate A&E as ER if not familiar with the term.

“Your CT Scan is fine, Rupert and there are no elevations in your blood pressure or signs of any paralysis or damage. Take the tablets I’ve prescribed only when you need them, but call an ambulance immediately if you experience any deterioration.”

The consultant rose from his chair and Giles did likewise.

“Thank you, doctor. I must say, you run a very efficient service here.”

“Oh, we’ve actually streamlined our usual process for you. We’ve just found it easier to keep your records here permanently in A&E even though the staff complain about the amount of space they take up.”

I can only imagine the size of Giles' medical file or the space it would take up in a file-cabinet. Wonder what it would equate to when it becomes a digitized file.

HA! Giles, one day I swear you're gonna wake up in a coma. Beautifully done.
