After Sunnydale, she’d followed him home to Bath, to gather her bearings and eventually find her new place in the world.

One morning she’d perused his study, finding fifteen volumes sitting on a bookshelf chronicling her life on the Hellmouth, the last one recording the defeat of Glory in heartbreaking detail, shocked to learn that's where he'd ended them.

Days later, she surprised him with a leather notebook.

“What’s this?” he asked.

“I thought… I’m not dead anymore.”

His eyes searched hers, finally seeing the spark within. Smiling broadly, he retrieved his pen.

The first entry read:

She’s returned.
