There were a great number of heavy boxes, but then Mrs Hilderhurst was a great and heavy spender at the Magic Box and Giles had been compelled to carry her purchases to her Cadillac.

“My,” he exclaimed as a dachshund wearing an orange suit with green cuffs and a jaunty green cap, cast forlorn eyes at him from the back seat. “Why is your dog dressed as a…” He’d wanted to say carrot but stopped in time.

“Sweetie makes a delightful pumpkin doesn’t she?” she gushed before snapping, “Don’t drop those, you clumsy oaf.”

Dog and man exchanged sympathetic looks.

It's just as you wrote it - those dressed-up dogs often have a "what did I do to deserve this?" look on their faces. And Giles would agree. Lovely man-dog moment of connection.

Oh Giles, you poor put upon thing, you! The dog knows exactly what you are going through. Karma will bite her in the tush... or maybe the dog will. LOL

You should; it never gets old. :-) However, I must advise you to not waste your time reading the book. I thought I was going to actually get a book I loved because the movie was based off of the book, but I couldn't even finish the thing. It had practically no Howl/Sophie romance, and that was the best part of that movie!

I do, however, highly recommend The Cat Returns from the same studio. If you haven't seen it yet, you must!!

Well done. I love pictures of animals in costume but they do have the "WTF did I do?" look in their eyes. And Giles wanting to be polite when stating what the dog looked like so, like him.
