Disclaimer: They're not mine. I'm just borrowing them

"If I understand," Giles began, "this contest features competing teams whose objectives are to 'chuck' pumpkins the farthest?"

"Yep." Xander responded cheerfully, "A tradition combining our two greatest loves- pumpkins, and things going splat!"

"Hmm."

"C'mon Giles, give it a chance." Willow pleaded. "Some of them use catapults. They're not flinging rocks, but still, kinda' historical."

"Catapults were used for more than just breaching walls. Incendiary missiles, severed carcasses or-"

"Giles," Buffy interrupted "you're cute when you're all Watchery, but we're trying to get away from gruesomeness."

"It's on!" Willow squealed.

Ten minutes later, "Oddly enough, I'm quite enjoying myself." Giles admitted.

Sweet! Enough with the gruesome, Giles. Just chuck that sucker.

Thanks for the giggle.

This was a great idea; you filled my head with pictures of Giles and the Scoobies having a great time at this event. Well done!

Hahahaha! Punkin chuckin! I can definitely see Giles getting into that. I can even see him designing his own trebuchet because the ones he sees at the event wouldn't be quite accurate enough for his tastes.

Fun stuff and great imagery! Thanks! :)

And I love that the story is about pumpkin chunking. We have that on this coast too, over in Delaware.

Ahh ... historic weaponry and a competition what more could a man ask for. Giles just can't seem to get out of the history lessons though.
