He was rounding the corner of his desk when a scent caught his nose. Rarely had he smelled anything over the last few days, so the cinnamon aroma immediately captivated his attention. "Willow?" he asked, seeing her sprinkle something into a cup of tea from whence a light mist was arising.
The redhead jumped at his voice and then smiled bashfully. "Oh, Mister Giles, I just thought you might like something to warm your throat. I know you've been feeling poorly lately and you never take any time for yourself."
He smiled. "True enough," he said, accepting the tea. "Thank you."
"Get better," she spoke in a rush before quickly departing, and he realized that the tea was more than just a drink. He quirked an eyebrow and considered his friend and the spell she had worked into this drink. Her words had not been a request but a command.
In the end, he shrugged and downed the potion. He had indeed felt poorly these last few days, and if Willow's magic would help him steer his Slayer and their friends to victories instead of death, he would gladly accept it. True to Willow's words, he felt better almost instantaneously as the tea warmed not just his throat and stomach but his old heart, as well.
