There were a great number of heavy boxes, but then Mrs Hilderhurst was a great and heavy spender at the Magic Box and Giles had been compelled to carry her purchases to her Cadillac.

“My,” he exclaimed as a dachshund wearing an orange suit with green cuffs and a jaunty green cap, cast forlorn eyes at him from the back seat. “Why is your dog dressed as a…” He’d wanted to say carrot but stopped in time.

“Sweetie makes a delightful pumpkin doesn’t she?” she gushed before snapping, “Don’t drop those, you clumsy oaf.”

Dog and man exchanged sympathetic looks.

Oh Giles, you poor put upon thing, you! The dog knows exactly what you are going through. Karma will bite her in the tush... or maybe the dog will. LOL
