Buffy had been heading out the door when he’d stammered his warning. She looked at him coldly.
“Is it the one about a school librarian found bludgeoned to death amongst his books?”
“Not unless there’s a sequel…” She didn’t look amused, so he continued, “I mis-translated it originally, I thought it was Earth’s Mother was under threat, but of course, that makes no sense…”
“Giles,” she interrupted. “While at least one of us is still young and pretty.”
“It’s actually Slayer’s Mother...”
Buffy grabbed two axes from the weapon’s locker.
“Tell me in the car.”
