“Rupert?” Henry Giles looked at his wife in disbelief. “Are you serious? Which part of dropping out of Oxford, mixing with ne’er-do-wells, engaging in wild orgies, raising demons and then having wild orgies with them…” He paused to wipe his brow. “Which part of that do you imagine we have in common?”
“Well obviously none of that, although he regrets dropping out of Oxford.” She took his hand. “My point is that at his age, you were frightened of failing too. Your mother had high expectations.”
“It made a man of me.”
“Give him time.”
