He watches her with him and thinks he's certainly considerably more than simply twice her age, or even three times as he. He watches her with him and knows he's no good for him, fearing he'll bring her nothing but heartache and sorrow. He sees him as the threat as he is and knows that his Demon may be unleashed on her at any time. He worries every time he sees them together, fearing he'll suck her into his Hell from whence he will never be able to retrieve her. He knows she'll have no love left to give.
And yet, at the same time, when he sees them fight, back to back, he is glad and thankful she has some one better in his life than he, some one with as much darkness but who can protect her more adequately. He watches them together every night, and never more has he wanted to be an Angel than when he sees her holding that one so achingly close. When she sees him watching them, he takes off his glasses and cleans them, pretending everything is all right but knowing it never will be as long as she wears his ring.
