"It was good of you to agree to let me use these magic books of yours to finish my research," Giles said, looking across the desk at Wesley. "Is it true they can call up almost any book?"

"Anything Wolfram and Hart has acquired, and over the centuries they've acquired quite a lot. It is a pleasure, though, having someone else who really appreciates the books here. The people in my division tend to simply treat them as a means to an end, a way to solve a problem. No one takes the time to simply read to expand their horizons or learn something new." Wesley ran a hand through his hair, then picked up one of the books into Giles' hand.

Giles smiled slightly, a thrill running through him at the feel of it. He opened it and looked at the blank pages."Can I get Bodin's Fleau des Demons et Sorciers?" Even as he asked it, the words and images started to appear on the pages in front of him. "Will it translate? My French is a bit rusty." And the words started to shift into English. "Astonishing."

"Isn't it?" Wesley asked. His eyes danced a bit, caught up in watching Giles' discovery of the book's powers.

"How about Wierus' De Praestigiius Daemonium?" The Latin words filled the pages. Giles said, "Translate," and English words. "This could become addictive," he said.

"It is. You see how this place seduced me. They got me with the lure of knowledge."

Giles looked over at Wesley. "Seduced you? That's a very telling phrase." He leaned in closer to Wesley. "How about seduction of another sort?"

Wesley smiled slightly and leaned closer still towards Giles. "I thought you'd forgotten."

Giles shook his head. "Never." He closed the gap between them and kissed him. It was a lingering kiss, full of history and regret and promise. "You must have a room here somewhere. Show me."

Wesley nodded and left with Giles, the book for the moment forgotten. They had their own magic to do right now.
