“Making a list?” Giles asked, walking into Buffy’s office and noticing her bent over a piece of paper.
“And checking it twice,” she quipped. “I can’t help but feel I am missing somebody… or somebodies.”
Taking the paper from her, Giles sat down on the corner of her desk and glanced over it. “Ah, you’ve missed Helen…” he said and, picking up her pen, struck out the name of another girl. “Last night, after patrol, Erin-“
“No!”
Startled, Giles looked up to see the the panic in Buffy’s eyes. “No! Nothing like that! Erin’s just gone home for the holidays.”
