“Do you trust me?” The handcuffs dangled from Ethan’s fingers, swaying back and forth like a scrying stone shifting from yes to no and back again.

Ripper didn’t but that night, after the hard fuck in a back alley and the groping - tongues darting and fingers clenching - that had taken them up the three flights of stairs to Ethan’s flat, he felt as if he was choosing anew. Rupert, the good boy, hiding behind a mask of acquiescence, would have said yes.

“Fuck no.” Ripper grabbed the cuffs to toss them aside, shoved Ethan until he fell against the mattress, and yanked off his jeans, fumbling in his haste to get his hands back on Ethan.
