Giles hadn’t known what compelled him to go back and check the Summers’ house before shutting the door that final time, but he'd found Mr Gordo on a shelf jauntily staring up at him and stuffed it into his jacket pocket.

During the battle, he'd touched his newfound talisman and rallied, knowing Buffy needed him to hold his ground as long as possible... longer even.

Months later, he’d found the pig while cleaning out his rucksack. She found it on her desk the following day, and when she kissed him, his world changed again, thanks to the pink stuffed animal.
