A/N: Sorry this is a day late. I was busy volunteering with my kids' play yesterday - closing night and whatnot.
It never ceased to amaze him, the generosity of his Slayer. Despite the complexities of planning and the sheer volume of sweets and treats acquired, she was determined to follow through with the Summers family tradition of celebrating St Nicholas Day - only on a grand scale in the Slayer dorm.
“Dawn and I looked forward to this every year,” Buffy explained, smiling and placing two goody filled shoes in front of a door. “It’s the little things.”
“It’s important to carry traditions forward,” Giles agreed, shifting the large sack he carried. “Although next time, find someone else wear the robes.”

With all the excitement of decorating for Christmas, Willow solemnly pulled out the Menorah her parents had given her upon entering college. They’d expected her to uphold her Jewish traditions after moving in separate directions. Over the intervening years, Willow had set them aside, preferring to celebrate the winter solstice.
But something was different this year - after the First.
Picking up the shamash, she lit the first candle.
Her friends noticed her methodical movements and moved to join her. Buffy and Xander took her hands and she raised her voice to chant with Giles as he began the Hanerot Halalu.
