With all the excitement of decorating for Christmas, Willow solemnly pulled out the Menorah her parents had given her upon entering college. They’d expected her to uphold her Jewish traditions after moving in separate directions. Over the intervening years, Willow had set them aside, preferring to celebrate the winter solstice.

But something was different this year - after the First.

Picking up the shamash, she lit the first candle.

Her friends noticed her methodical movements and moved to join her. Buffy and Xander took her hands and she raised her voice to chant with Giles as he began the Hanerot Halalu.

Sometimes, you just need the comforting familiarity of childhood traditions. It's nice to see Will having the same feel, and her friends, as always, supporting her. <3

Agreed. I would imagine that for months after the implosion of Sunnydale, everyone would feel a bit addled and off their game and would look to familiar and comforting things for refuge. Thanks!
