"Come on, Giles, your introduction to American culture isn't complete until you carve your first jack-o-lantern," Xander urged.

The Watcher skeptically eyed the ridiculously rotund orange vegetable that sat before him on the table, it's green stem sticking up jauntily.

"Plus side: a more festive library," Willow added, handing him a carving knife.

Buffy placed a giant bowl next to him.

"What's this for?" Giles asked.

"The pumpkin guts. You gotta disembowel the suckers before you can carve their faces," his Slayer explained with delight.

Ten minutes later he was covered in pumpkin slime. "Worse than any demon," he muttered.
